Question: I have been experiencing random pains on the right side of my belly button which can extend towards flank. It lasts for a few seconds and feels like a gripping muscular pain. It can happen a few times a day. I have has my urine checked for infection everything clear. I also seem to be experiencing a lot of gas. Could this pain be related to gas?

Brief Answer:
Please go through detailed answer dear.

Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Have seen your details,
The area you are saying contains intestine. Intestine contains billions of colonies of good bacteria and fungi which help in digestion. Any alteration in this gut Flora can cause dysbiosis which results in bad bacteria's over numbering the good once. These bad bacteria ferments food which releases toxic gases. These gases compresses intestine through which nerves pass hence causing pain.
Tests suggested- stool test for dysbiosis.
Take a good probiotic like VSL#3 two times a day along with a home cooked bland diet for few days.
Note-I am assuming that an ultrasound of kidney and bladder(Usg kub) has already been done to rule out renal calculi.
Follow up with reports.
Thank you.
