Question: Hi the patient was diagnosed with cancer in the large intestine in November 2021. Patient had an MRI done last week. Could you analyse report and give a status report on cancer and the possible treatment

This patient a 63year old male had the following done:
Endoscopy
colonoscopy
In late January had the chemotherapy treatment which was :
Two weeks treatment of Xeloda 500mg tablets which was taken 4 tablets twice daily. This was completed on the 2nd February 2022. Patient fell ill as the large intestine was blocked and an emergency operation was done to bye pass this, in that a colostomy bag was put for the patient.
Patient had to recover from the operation before treatment could resume for this cancer.
The MRI that was done is to assist with further treatment.
Please assist the best you can.

Based on the MRI is this cancer shrinking or spreading and what are the possible treatment at this time?
what is the probability of a full recovery?

Hi Doctor this patient is being treated in the public health system. So results of all tests done are unavailable to the patient. The only result that the patient has is the MRI results based on test done last week. There is a long list of patients for radiation and chemotherapy. Thats why we are urgently trying to know what's happening.
Hence could you state what the snap shot MRI has revealed and what could be done to assist the patient to recovery so arrangements can be made privately if possible.

It’s difficult to have a right opinion if we don’t have the exams before chemotherapy it’s starting.

If clinically the patient it’s worse XXXXXXX before the chance of disease to have relapsed are greater.
If that possibility will be confirmed by his doctor,than the actual therapy need to be changed.
There are a lot of possibilities for other therapy’s,but of coarse this option will be discussed with his doctors.

I have been carefully through your exams

In last MRI seems that the mass of tumor its growing.
If the tumor marker are rising too ,and the patient it’s worse clinically, than in my opinion his doctor should have other treatment options.
