Question: Few days back I had cough and slight fever along with nasal congestion. After few days cough and fever subsided but I have started feeling sinus related complication. I am suffering heaviness of head with nasal blockage throughout the day. Taking stream inhalation alleviates the problem for only a short period of time and it comes back and remain there. Though I do not have any fever but headache and irritation in the nasal passage exists and I will also feel slight feverish ( no high temperature > 97 recorded though in the thermometer ) in the evening. Could you please help?

Brief Answer:
URTI, chronic rhinosinusitis.

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

Thank you for your query.

1. First and foremost, get a Covid RT-PCR swab test done, and H1N1 (Swine Flu) swab test if possible.

2. An anti-allergic mucolytic such as Tab, Lukotas HD/ Ventocore Ax / Allerfix Total once or twice a day will help. Add Effervescent Tab Mucinac C once a day if required. Syp. Reswas 1 tsp. two times a day will help reduce the cough.

3. GIven your history of chronic allergic rhinitis and sinusitis, get an ImmunoCap allergy test with IgE level estimation done after you have recovered from this episode and have stopped all anti-allergy medication.

4. You can upload the results here and take this discussion forwards.

I hope that I have answered your query.
If you have any further questions, I will be available to answer them.

Regards
