Currently Taking XXXXXXX 90mg For Cholesterol (it's Not Super High
Low dose bc last time was on adderall xr 30 mg ended up w withdrawal symptoms due to sometimes wasn't able to get meds and took at diff times.
Was recommended non stimulant by psych so on strattera. (Not 1st time on it took when younger) I'm 23 female, blk and latino background for family.
I started taking the straterra and cholesterol meds at same time.
Noticed headaches that felt similar to sinus headaches bc starr around nose they then spread to back of head near neck.
Decided I'd try taking pills 1hr apart.
Still same issue.
Started taking straterra at night and cholesterol during day no issues.
Was told by my dr to try n start taking during day again since been a week and half over a month now.
Tried again today pills at same time again headache.
I also before was taking the strattera at 2:35and would sometimes not be able to take until 3:45 or 4pm. N would just go back to taking at night bc headaches.
Then started taking 2 at night for a week and half then tried 1 during day and 1 at night.
During day got headache still. So went back to 1 pill. At night.
Took at 3:45pm today w cholesterol meds n got headache again at around 8:24.
I dont want to hav withdrawl symptoms again. I'm about to start head school and idk what I'm suppose to do. I noticed if I take at night I dont really notice much of meds lasting long through whole day. At night I take 1 at 11pm.
I know I should speak with doctor but I dont have appt until january 20th.
And I need to kno if it would be fine to continue taking at night instead since no headaches.
But I dont want to keep messing w when i take the meds n have issues again w withdrawl symptoms like on adderall. Bc I've also skipped a a day if I was going to take during day instead of at night.plus the week of taking 2 at night. And switching to during day for a week 1 pill And at night 1 pill smh. I only took 2 bc the bottle said to increase after 5 days n it turned out my dr didnt say to do that.
You can take Strattera at night- details below
Detailed Answer:
Hello and welcome to Ask a Doctor service,
I carefully read the query and here is my advice.
Strattera is taken once a day, generally in the morning. On the other hand, if you feel better by using it at night, you can do so as long as you take it regularly at night till you see your doctor and decide further on the way you should use it.
If you need to change from morning to night, take the pill in the morning and the other pill at night that day and then go on with one pill at night till you see your doctor. This way you will avoid any withdrawal symptoms (as long as you take it regularly you should not have such a problem).
Staterra can cause headaches up to 19% of the patients so it is likely your headache is related to it but the doctor will have to examine you and make sure there is no other cause of the headache.
I hope this answers your query and is helpful to you. Let me know if I may assist you further.
Kind regards,
Dr. Antoneta Zotaj,
