Brief Answer:
Clindamycin and Azithromycin are good alternative antibiotics

Detailed Answer:
Hello mam, thank you for choosing healthcare magic. Peridex is very effective for gum infections. As you are allergic to pencillin group of antibiotics, you can use clindamycin if your gum infection doesn't respond to peridex.
Tab clindamycin 300mg thrice daily for 7 days is recommended.
Other antibiotic which you can try is Azithromycin. It belongs to macrolide group of Antibiotics. Tab.azithromycin 250 mg twice daily for 3 days is advised for gum infections.
Hope i have answered your question. Please let me know if you need any further assistance. Thank you. Take care.

Brief Answer:
Azithromycin is better tolerated than erythromycin

Detailed Answer:
Hello mam, thank you for choosing healthcare magic. Yes you are right erythromycin and Azithromycin belong to the same group of antibiotics called macrolides but Azithromycin is tolerated better than erythromycin. Many people who are allergic to erythromycin tolerate Azithromycin.if you had taken Azithromycin previously and had any reaction, please avoid that drug. That's why i mentioned it in my reply. Clindamycin is not the same group of erythromycin but it belongs to lincosamide group of antibiotics. So you can take clindamycin without any suspicion and apprehension.
Hope i have answered your question. Please let me know if you need any further assistance. Thank you. Take care.
