Cut The Bottom Of My Penis Shaving And Had Sex
Question: Cut the bottom of my penis shaving and had sex with a prostitute 5 hours later with condom on is there a risk of hiv thanks
Brief Answer:
A condom is a good protection if not broken
Detailed Answer:
Hello and thank you for using 'Ask A Doctor' for your health-related questions.
I can understand your concern.
If the condom was not broken and put on during the entire intercourse then there is no risk of HIV transmission.
On top of that, as per your description, the cut seemed to be only on the bottom part where it's unlikely to get irritated due to the friction/forces.
I hope this answers your question.
Let me know if I can assist you further.
Take care.

Hi Thankyou for your answer I'm not sure if the condom covered the cut and if any vaginal fluid got on the cut,the cut was done with an battery operated trimmer and looked like a superficial cut so can you clarify if hiv could be transmitted this way, the lady said she was clean but I don't know that and it's only her word thanks.
Brief Answer:
Low chance
Detailed Answer:
If there was no active bleeding from the cut then the chance of contracting an STD is very low.
Nevertheless, please keep in mind that an STD transmission is always possible through broken skin.
