Brief Answer:
More information would be helpful, but lung infection should be considered if you have also fever or cough.

Detailed Answer:
Hello and welcome to 'Ask a Doctor' service...

I carefully read your query and understand your concern. Especially having it difficult to breath is an important symptom.

There may be several causes for the complaints you have and firstly lung-related conditions should be ruled out.

I would like to know some more information on your symptoms so that I can better address your problem:

- for how long have you had the tiredness, difficulty with breathing and gas in the left chest?
- what exactly do you mean with gas in the chest?
- do you have chest pain as well?
- any fever?
- have you seen the doctor and are you using any treatment?

If you have a cough and fever along with the shortness of breath, a lung infection should be considered and ruled out. In this case, antibiotics are needed. Azithromycin for 5 days is the preferred treatment. Also, rest and making sure you eat and keep yourself well hydrated are important.

I hope this addresses your questions. I'm at your disposal for further assistance.
