Question: DTP was given at 18 months. Now the child's age is 4 years 8 months. Will they still have immunity fromr Tetanus ? My son had a fall at home, clean wound, but washed with cotton soaked with dettol, and dirty tank water ( tank had held contaminated well water a month ago)

Brief Answer:
Tetanus covered. Nothing more needs to be done.

Detailed Answer:
Thanks for using the 'Ask A Doctor' service.

Let me reassure that your child's normal vaccination will cover for tetanus and you need not worry.

No need to vaccinate again. Just continue with the regular immunisation schedule and give the next dose when due.

Feel free to write back.

Regards
