Dear Doctor I Have A Little Muscle Coming Out From
I have a little muscle coming out from my thumb.
Do I need to go to the hospital to get it looked at or will it heal by itself ?
I have attached an image of the wound. Not sure how this happened but maybe too much pressure on the thumb.
Thank you.
Kindly upload another clearer picture of it...

Hello and welcome to 'Ask A Doctor' service...
I've gone through your query in details...
I've reviewed the attached picture, but it's quite blurry...I'd request you to reupload a few more snapshots under a bright white light preferably for a clearer view...
No, it doesn't seem to be related to too much pressure on the thumb...So, do let me know--
- Since how long are you suffering from this?
- Is there any pain? If yes, on a scale of 1-10 (10 being the worst), how severe is the pain?
- Is the pain staying at one specific area or traveling/radiating to somewhere else as well?
- Is there any redness, oozing of pus/fluids from the area?
- Any previous history of injury to the thumb?
Kindly revert back with these details...

Kind Regards
Thank you

Detailed Answer:
Welcome back,
Thanks for the picture...
It seems like an ingrown nail or a granuloma...No, it's not likely to get healed by itself...
It's better to get it checked up by a Dermatologist or a general Surgeon (whoever's available)...Further management will be based on the exact finding (the doctor may just simply excise/remove it or advice antibiotic ointment in case there's infection found)...
Meanwhile, keep the area dry, don't cover it and do not apply any pressure on it...
You can apply some dry heat gently over the area, avoid any kind of manipulation and do get it checked up...
Let me know if I can assist you further...
Wish you good health...
