Dear Doctor, I’m 45 Years Old Male With Body Weight

I’m 45 years old male with body weight of 78Kgs and height 173cms . Recently I’ve gone through comprehensive health check up of which reports are attached for your perusal.
I want to mention some points here regarding my life style and known health issues
1. I have been a smoker and have quit since 2014.
2. I drink once in a week in moderate quantities.
3. I have mild cervical spondylitis which appears only when I lift heavy items.
4. Once I suffered from tennis elbow and experience similar pain sometimes.
5. Frequent moderate pain in limbs and neck which seems to be neurological.
6. Frequent head ache felt in whole skull surface.
7. My BP remains around 130/90
8. I use spectacles and experience blurred vision sometimes.
I am concerned about some test results which are beyond permissible range. I want to understand my reports if they are pointing towards some health issues specifically cardiac risk, BP and diabetes. Please review my reports and suggest whether these are controllable by change in life style only or do I need to go for some other tests or consultations.
regards
Question regarding review of reports and advise after review it.
Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Welcome to the 'Ask A Doctor' service.
I have read your reports and following is my opinion.
1) Your total cholesterol value and triglyceride value are borderline high.
For that you need not to take any medication just now.
Life style change and exercise is enough for reducing cholesterol level.
After one month you have to repeat cholesterol testing.
2) Your vitamin D level is low. For that you can be prescribed cholecalciferol XXXXXXX once a week for eight week. After that for few weeks calci D tablet can be taken.
3) Your average blood glucose and hba1c suggestive of pre-diabetic state.
For that life style changes like less sugar, less fatty foods intake done. Regular exrceise also should be done.
After one month you have to repeat hba1c, fasting blood sugar estimation and post prandial blood sugar estimation to check control in pre diabetes state.
No medicine need to be given presently for your high sugar level.
4) Your borderline high MCV and eosinophil doesn't need any treatment because your total count and hemoglobin values are within range.
I hope I have answered your question.
Let me know if I can assist you further.

Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Welcome back.
I have read your 2 questions and below is my answer for that.
1) Your blood pressure is 130/90 which is considered to be pre hypertension stage.
For that You need to do life style change as follow...
_Avoid smoking
_Take healthy diet like more green leafy vegetables and fruits
_Take low salt diet
_Avoid high sugar foods and sweet
_Do regular 30 minute excercise like brisk walking, running etc
_Reduce weight if your BMI more than 25
You need not to take any medicine just now. Repeat your blood pressure measurement after one month again.
2) The hypertension can cause headache. So it can be the causative factor.
However neurological problem could be due to cervical spondylitis for which you need to consult orthopedic surgeon or neurologist.
Hope I have answered your two questions.
Let me know if I can assist you further.
Best regards
