Dear Doctor, My Helper Accidentally Put A Baby Teether, Together

Question: Dear Doctor,

My helper accidentally put a baby teether, together with other milk bottles into the Avent steriliser. The teether melted slightly thereafter ! We did not realised it until we finished using the few bottles in it! I’m worried that the fumes toxic or vapour was in it can affect other bottles what should I do now ? I’m worried my 3 month old would have swallowed some Poison from it! The teether says BPA free . But can the melting of the teething cause vapour or fumes in the same steriliseer?

Is changing of the steriliser and milk bottles necessary ??!

What can’ I do now?

No need to worry

Thanks for using the 'Ask A Doctor' service.

I have gone through your query and understand your concerns.

Let me assure you that the teether is supposedly make of non-toxic material and even if it has melted slightly, it is unlikely to adversely affect the health of your child.

You need not change the steriliser or the bottles.

Regards
