Dear Doctor, My Mother Is Not Able To Swallow Either
Question: Dear Doctor,
My mother is not able to swallow either food or water from last 5 days. As doctor asked to go for endoscopy but we tried 2 times but mother not able to take the pipe to inside.
Let me know the other treatments as it is urgent. As my mother told that what ever it will go till down to rips and it will come back(vomit).

Hi
The cause of vomiting should be known by investigations.
Upper GI Endoscopy will give a clue.As she is not cooperative, Contrast Enhanced CT scan Abdomen should be done.
Hope she has not taken any painkillers as Gastritis due to them may cause vomiting.
Please give rest to her gut for 2 days.Do not give anything orally.Intracenous fluids should be given after admission in a hospital.In course of time,she can be investigated with CTscan Abdomen.
Nothing to worry.
I prescribe a Capsule containing Rabeprazole along with Itopride, a prokinetic which propels the food forward to my patients with similar complaints.
