Dear Doctor, Two Months Before We Were Blessed With A

Question: Dear Doctor, Two months before we were blessed with a baby girl. In the ward I was walking the whole night carrying the baby in my hands for about a week. because of this both my feets were swollen and I had a constant pain in both my feet. After my wife and baby were discharged from the hospital I saw a doctor and had pain medication and also had physiotherapy for a week and then the pain and the swelling had gone. But still I am walking a lot to take care of the baby in night. Now slowly I am developing pain in both my feet. So I am now wearing slippers inside my house also and this was somewhat relieving. But still my pain is slowly increasing in both my feet. I can't take complete rest. So please advice me as how I can take care of my feet and what can I do to reduce the pain. Thanks.
Brief Answer:
Plantar fasciitis
Detailed Answer:
Hi there
It is common to suffer from Plantar fasciitis after pregnancy. This is because the foot arches flatten out during pregnancy.
It usually resolves spontaneously 5-6 months after delivery.
Wear silicone heel pads and medial arch supports in your footwear. Perform foot and calf strengthening exercises for relief.
I hope I have answered your query. I will be available to answer your further queries.
Thanking you.
Kind regards,
