Question: Dear Dr, my age is 48, male. Height 175 cm weight 78kg and residing in XXXXXXX working in Central Govt. Recently when I driving scooter it was supposed to skid I forcibly lift so that not to fall. It happened 6 months ago. Since then I am getting unbearable pain on back side lower part muscle which was sprained at that time. Kindly suggest any medicines to get relief. I am using ice pack, mild exercise etc.but no. respite

This could be due to strain of the muscles or particle slip disc.

Avoid bending forward or lifting heavy objects. Apply warm packs. Do straight leg raising exercises while lying on bed. Take Ibuprofen 400mg twice a day for 5 days after meals. If still no response then MRI of the lumbar spine may be needed.

Doctor u r orthopaedic surgeon can u address my another problem. I have been sufferingfrom knee pain problem since 2014 and MRI get it done and Doctor told it is wear and tear problem. Whether it is osteoarthritis. If so what medicines i have to take especially pain killer and whether knee cap or bracelet required. I AM doing phisiotherapy regularly. Same time i developed stasis dermatitis both are corelated. Kinddly prescribe medicines, painn killer, kneevwearvsupport and any shoe particular one required. My height 175 cm. I have reduced my weigjt from 82 kg to 75 kg. once gym and swimming open i will go there. My age is 48 yrs and male. MIne is sedentary job.Is there permanent solution there apart from surgery. One dr told me ur knees are goodd and back thigh muscles are weak. Kindly advise pl.

Hi,

Yes, the wear and tear is Osteoarthritis.

Do static Quadriceps exercises to strengthen muscles.

Take Paracetamol 650mg three times a day for pain relief.

Eat good amount of protein in diet.

Walk daily 20 minutes to improve knee function. Avoid squatting and cross leg sitting.
