Brief Answer:
Answer given below

Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Thanks for posting your query.
I am Dr.R.K and I am pleased to assist you.
It is not diverticulitis. It is diverticulosis. Diverticulosis is small outpouchings in the colon (large intestine). It is normally seen in elderly individuals especially those who do not take enough fiber.
It looks like he has uncomplicated diverticulosis. He has to include more vegetables and fruits in his diet(which will provide enough fiber) and also take fiber supplements if his bowel movements are not good.

He also has gastritis. Test for the bacterium H.pylori which commonly causes gastritis is negative. For relief he may have to take medications ( pantoprazole 40 mg twice daily for 4 weeks).
Regards,
Dr.R.K.
