Dear Doctor, So Here Is My Story: 1. First Day

Question: Dear doctor,

So here is my story:

1. First day of period - XXXXXXX 12th
2. In July found out I was pregnant
3. Found out it was ectopic.
4. July 28th - Had surgery to remove pregnancy from follopian tube
5. HCG was not going down so on 08/08 had one dose of a methotrexate shot
6. HCG levels still not going down, internal bleeding was present. On 08/10 had a 2nd surgery to remove the tube.

Now its been over 2 weeks since the shot and the 2nd surgery and on 08/25 me and husband had intercourse (went to a party, drank a bit). He used the pulled out method. I am now going beside myself if I am ovulating or if methotrexate shot is still in my system. How likely is it that my body still has this drug in the system or that I would be ovulating already?

Please provide me with some answers to my earlier post and how likely is pre-cum to get me pregnant after such events? My husband did not ejaculate any other time during the day therefore there should not be any sperm in his precum from previous ejaculation. He had pulled out in time and finished a minute after on my stomach, away from my vagina.

Brief Answer:
Pregnancy is not likely.

Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Thanks for trusting us with your health concern.
After a methotrexate shot, it takes 6-8 weeks for the ovulation to return back to normal. It is only 2 weeks since you had the shot and you used a pull out method also. In this case, pregnancy is not likely. The chances of conception due to pre cum are also very low. To be very sure, you can take plan B within 24 hours but it can cause a mild withdrawal bleeding.
Please feel free to discuss further. I will be glad to answer the follow up queries that you have.
Wishing you good health.
Regards.

Thank you doctor. This does calm me down. With all the procedures I have no clue where in the cycle I am so hearing that I won't ovulate for several more weeks gives me an idea of where I am at in the cycle. I also wanted to point out that on August 10th I also had a D

Doctor in addition on August 20th I had my blood drawn for HCG check and it was 58. Not entirely zero, so I assume that by August 25th I could not have ovulated if my HCG was still at 58, 5 days earlker. Am I correct?

Brief Answer:
Ovulation not likely.

Detailed Answer:
Hello.
Thanks for writing again.
If your HCG was at 58 on 20th Aug, then ovulation is not likely just after 5 days. No need to worry.
Hope my answer is helpful.
Do accept my answer in case there are no further queries.
