Brief Answer:
Laryngopharyngeal reflux...

Detailed Answer:
Hi

Thanks for posting the query

I have gone through the query thoroughly and understood your problem. I am of the opinion that you could be having either laryngopharyngeal reflux or granular pharyngitis.

Laryngopharyngeal reflux is a condition of the throat which occurs secondary to silent reflux of the acid from the stomach into the throat causing swelling in the mucosa of the former. The swelling thus causes discomfort in the throat while swallowing.

Granular pharyngitis is a condition wherein the mucosa of the throat develops a cobblestone appearance due to recurrent inflammation. The presence of granulations causes discomfort while swallowing.

Apart from that, anxiety is also known to cause throat discomfort. Anxiety causes the involuntary muscles of the neck to go in for spasm during stress attacks, thus causing discomfort in the neck and the throat.

In either of the cases, the treatment is very simple. The treatment constitutes proton pump inhibitors with a prokinetic for a few weeks along with lifestyle modifications.

As you are already on Pantab, I would recommend you to continue the same on a daily basis for a month with gradual tapering of the dosage. Anxiety can be reduced with meditation/relaxation exercises. Drink frequent sips of warm water. Avoid coffee/spicy/oily food/fizzy drinks.

I doubt any other major issues in your case.

Hope this answers your query. I will be available for the follow-up queries.
