Despite Depression , Personality Changes Recently, Speech Is Getting Apparently
Question: Despite depression, personality changes recently, speech is getting apparently difficult to understand, mood swings, irritable for no reason, weight gain, sweating profusely with normal stress. Hypothyroldism i suspect but TSH, T4 and free T4 are WNL. I do have psoriatic arthritis.
Brief Answer:
Thyroid excluded;
Detailed Answer:
Hello and thank you for asking!
I have gone carefully through your concern.
The symptoms you described can be caused by severe hypothyroidism that in your case is excluded by checking thyroid hormones that resulted normal.
There are some other pathologies to be excluded before we "blame" depression responsible for them, but a detailed clinical examination and history is needed to get a better orientation in what field to be focused.
Hope the information will help.
Wishing you good health,

Can TSH start trending upward over time? I know there can be fluctuations but is trending upward an indication?
Brief Answer:
About TSH level;
Detailed Answer:
Hi again,
As far as it is within the normal ranges the trend to go upward is not significant.
If it reaches the upper normal limit, you need to check thyroid antibodies to exclude Hashimoto thyroiditis and monitor TSH every 6 months if they result positive.
