Diagnosed With Enlarged Liver With Normal Outline And Echotexture, Depressed. Suggest Medicine To Cure This?

very disturbed after hearing this going through depression, please help
Thank you for contacting XXXXXXX with your quiery.
First of all , let me assure you that mildly enlarged liver
with normal echotexture and outline should not make
you very depressed or worried. Depending on the person's
height and weight and overall build , the liver dimensions
can vary a little. It is more important that you have all the
liver function tests, complete metabolic profile, complete
blood count, thyroid profile to make sure they are all normal.
Obesity is associated with a slightly enlarged liver and also
fatty liver which shows up on ultrasound of the liver. You
did not have it. Diabetics , especially type -2 can have fatty
liver with enlargement. There are rare genetic disorders
like glycogen storage disease, amyloidosis etc that can cause
liver enlargement. In western cultures and increasing in
other parts of the world, problem of alcohol abuse and related
liver diseases, first fatty liver, then cirrhosis are seen.
If your doctor has ruled out all of the conditions that I mention,
you have nothing to worry. As I stress, make sure that you have
had all the blood tests that I mention above.
I want you to eat a healthy diet, enough proteins, fresh fruits
and vegetables and excercise at least three times a week.
Even brisk walking is very helpful to maintain your desirable
weight. I also suggest that you start taking a good Super B-Complex
vitamin supplement , Vitamin-C 1000 mg. daily and a Vit-E 800 i.u.
daily. Try to avoid excess fatty, greasy and fried foods.
Hope this relieves your anxiety.
I wish you the very best.

This confirms what I said before. Your liver is perfectly normal and you do not have to worry.
Elevated monocytes may indicate some recent infection you might have had. I don't know
if you were tested for "Mononucleosis".
I wish you the very best.
