Question: My ALT ( GPT ) was <6 on recent blood test. What does this mean! I am a 29 year old female recently diagnosed with mild mitral valve prolapse.

ALT or SGPT (alanine aminotransferase or serum glutamic pyruvic transaminase)
ALT (SGPT) is primarily found in the liver, making it a more specific test for detecting liver abnormalities.

ALT (SGPT) normal range is 5-35 IU/L.

Your levels of SGPT are perfectly normal and there is nothing to worry.
