Diagnosed With Mitral Valve Prolapse. Is My ALT Level In Normal Range?
Question: My ALT ( GPT ) was <6 on recent blood test. What does this mean! I am a 29 year old female recently diagnosed with mild mitral valve prolapse.
Hello Sarabjot
Thanks for the query.
ALT or SGPT (alanine aminotransferase or serum glutamic pyruvic transaminase)
ALT (SGPT) is primarily found in the liver, making it a more specific test for detecting liver abnormalities.
ALT (SGPT) normal range is 5-35 IU/L.
Your levels of SGPT are perfectly normal and there is nothing to worry.
I hope to have answered your query however you may revert to me for any other query.
Thanks and best of luck.
