Diagnosed With Tonsillitis. On Penicillin. Light Headed With Restless Legs. Suggest The Cure?

Question: Diagnosed with tonsillitis. Been on penicillan since monday. Throat feels better but feeling very lightheaded with restless legs. How long will this last
Hello,
Keep taking your anti biotic regularly.
Your symptoms are due to the presence of infection.
It would take another 2-3 days for your symptoms to settle down.
Thanks

Anything i can do to stop the lightheadedness
Hello,
Take some hot liquids like hot coffee, soups etc.
Avoid cold drinks.
Take rest.
Take tylenol,if you are having headache.
If nasal blockage is there, put some nasal decongestant.
I hope it helps however you may revert to me for any further query.

Went back to dr last night. Tonsils still inflammed. Given more penecillin. Does tonsillitis take over a week to improve??
Hello,
Normally 85% of cases improve in one week time after an antibiotic therapy, but in some cases the antibiotic therapy has to be given for some more time.
Normally penicillin is given for 10 days in tonsilitis but sometimes it has to be given for 2 weeks. If your tonsils are still inflamed after two weeks, then you may require a throat swab culture for identification of organism and antibiotic.
Generally almost all cases resolve within 10-14 days.
Thanks
