Hi,
Welcome to XXXXXXX
It is common to have the symptoms you mentioned following vomiting.
I advice you to avoid spicy food for few days, alcohol and smoking. It will be better if you take proton pump inhibitor it will help in reducing the acid secretion. These are available as over the counter medication. I advice you take these medication for 7 days, once daily, early morning empty stomach half an hour before breakfast.
I advice you to follow this approach. Regarding the swelling that you have mentioned it will be better if you mention the exact location and size and any aggravating factor.
Hope I have provided the information you needed.
Wish you good health. Take care.

I am have difficulty in breathing, actually last week Friday evening I had vomittings in which i vomited extremely acidic and bitter fluid (pitta)since
then i am facing difficulty in breathing.
at any given time i have some gas entrapped in my chest i keep on trying to expel that out and in process i am pressuring my chest.but the gas is not coming out
at this moment i feel what ever amount of air i breath is not sufficient and so i breath by mouth to make my self comfortable also i am worried what happening to me.
I feel that i have swelling somewhere inside which is pressing my chest and so i have this breathing problem ,but i don't have any pain any where.
i have never faced this problem before.
i have tried gelusil, ranitidine tablet but the problem is still there
can you please suggest me something so that i can comfort myself as the medical facility here is very poor

Hello
Good to hear from you.
It is very difficult to precisely confirm a diagnosis without examination and investigations and the answer is based on the medical information provided.
Based on the information i think along with GERD. I advice you to go chest x XXXXXXX that will help in diagnosing any swelling that you feel. It will be better if you also do a upper GI scopy.
Even the symptoms might be due to belching, is the act of bringing up air from the stomach. Belching is most often a normal process. The purpose of belching is to release air from the stomach. Every time you swallow, you also swallow air, along with fluid or food. As the air builds up in the upper stomach, it causes stretching of the stomach that triggers the lower esophageal sphincter muscle to relax. This lets air escape up the esophagus and out the mouth. Excessive or repeated belching may be caused by unconsciously swallowing air (aerophagia).
Pressure caused by the unconscious swallowing of air, Gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD) are the causes.
You can get relief by lying on your side or in a knee-to-chest position until the gas passes. Avoid chewing gum, eating quickly, and eating gas-producing foods and beverages. Addressing GERD.
I advice you to follow the conservative approach for few days and if there is no improvement i advice you to go for the investigation.
Hope i have cleared your queries. If you do not have any clarifications, you can close the discussion and rate the answer.
Wish you good health.
