Do I Need Operation Had CT Scan, It Shows Total Opacification Of Soft Tissues Attenuation How Soon Have To Do It?
Question: Hello, looking for consultation of the ENT doctor. Just did CT scan, it shows total opacification of soft tissues attenuation with round superior contours and hyperdence central area.
Osteomeatal complex: OBLITERATED.
overal diagnoses FUNGAL SINUSITIS.
its continuing for the last 2 month (July- Sep), despite some medical treatment. do i need operation? how soon i have to do it?

Are you a Diabetic? YES I AM (on metformin and sitagliptin, tablets only)
Were you treated with antifungal medication till now ? yes when i learn that its fungal i started taking flukonazol, nistatin,
Presently what medications are you on? metformin and sitagliptin, eutherox, and telmisartan, and for the last couple of weeks on antifungal.
Are you on long term immuno suppressant therapy? no never.

Firstly, it is very important that you keep your blood glucose levels under normal range, as high blood sugar can lead to worsening of fungal infection anywhere in the body.
As you have already completed antifungal medication a repeat check scan would be necessary to ascertain the clearance of infection.
If the repeat scan shows infection again, then an option of endoscopic sinus surgery can be considered.
