Do I Need To Concern I Got Urinary Tract Infection With Fever?

Question: Hi I got Urinary Tract Infection, and today I have taken my first dose of Levofloxacin about 5 hours ago. Just checked, I have a fever of 99.8 Celsius. I did not have my temperature taken at the doctors today. Probably, I already have a fever then. My condition seems to have gotten better. If I have a fever now, do I need to concern?

Thanks for your query based on the facts that you have posted it appears that you have acute Urinary Tract Infection (UTI) which is very common in females in post Menopausal age .

Get your routine urine test and urine culture done to find out the organisms causing this infection and antibiotics to which they are sensitive to.

Take broad spectrum antibiotics like Cefixime along with urinary antiseptic like Nitrofurantoin twice daily and urine alkaliser thrice daily .Later on switch on to appropriate antibiotics as per culture report.

Get the prescription of medicines from your family Physician.

Ensure to drink more water to keep urine dilute This will help to control dysuria.
