Do I Need To Go To ER Or Can It Wait For Urgent Care For Symptoms Like Swelling, Redness, Pain, And Warmth
Question: Hi! I'm coving off of Covid, about a week post negative results. My arms were pretty sore during the illness. I think I have a blood clot on the inside of my arm, just above the inner elbow. Symptoms are swelling, redness, pain, and warmth. Do I need to go to ER or can it wait for urgent care tmw? I don't have a primary. Thanks.
Brief Answer:
Please do as mention below ,if it contain pus then go to ER
Detailed Answer:
Hi dear,
I think you maybe having a subcutaneous hematoma. Are you taking blood thinner medicines? It could also be an abscess.
Apply povidine iodine at site and wash after 1/2 hour , tab augmentin single 875 mg 12 hrly for 5 days. For this antibiotic you will need prescription of doctor. So you can see a doctor tomorrow. Tylenol 325 mg for pain or fever, if needed.
Swelling might need to be incised to drain if pus is filled or it is causing muscle tissue damage, then need to go to ER.
Hope this helps. Let me know if I can assist you further.
