Do I Need To Visit My Hematologist For Small Black And Blue Marks On My Right Bicep?

Question: I am a 71 healthy male.
I take Xarelto 20mg. daily for an unexplained DVT in my lower leg, and to prevent future DVT's.
I am not a "bleeder". During dental hygiene visits where the gum line is scraped, even on Xarelto, there is very little gum bleeding.
Recently I have noticed a small black and blue surface mark on my right bicep.
I think this type of thing is normal with Xarelto.
I have a very busy schedule. Do I need to visit my hematologist MD for this small black and blue mark? Thank you very much.

Detailed Answer:
Hello,
I can understand your concern. As you have noticed small black and blue surface mark, let me know whether there is any history of injury or blunt trauma or history of bleeding from any other site or history of black stool? Kindly follow up with detailed history.
If there is no any significant causal history, I'd suggest you to consult with hematologist. At present you can apply ice over it. Kindly follow up if you have any query. I think this will clarify your concern. Take care.
