Do I Need To Visit The ER For Red Splotches On The Chest?
Question: Red splotches showed up on chest today. I think it's cellulitis. I have an appointment with my doctor tomorrow. Do I need to go to the emergency room right now? I think it's spreading up.
Brief Answer:
possible allergic eruptions, less likely cellulitis. No ER visit required.
Detailed Answer:
Hello,
* As per my clinical experience, the red spots are part of allergic eruptions
and less likely cellulitis.
There is no need to go to emergency room right now as per my opinion.
Kindly provide me further details so that I can answer your query completely.
1. Is there any history of bug bite, exposure to dusty place ?
2. Is there itching, burning at the site ?
3. Any alteration in body temperature ?
Till you do a follow up, primary relief with ice pack application for 4-5 minutes will help immensely.
Awaiting for your response.
Take care.

No bug bites or dust at all. There is no itching or burning, and I haven't had any alteration in body temperature. I did eat a not ripe peach and I had a tingling sensation in my mouth, so I took an allergy pill - Locatrin.
I was mainly worried about cellulitis because I had it once in the past in a fresh tattoo - but these aren't fresh. I had been swimming earlier in the day as well. The redness seems to have gone down slightly since last night.
