Question: er dr told me I have lingular pneumonia they did a chest xray and a ct scan with that XXXXXXX stuff and drew blood they gave me a shot of toradol for the pain in my left chest and rib cage under my arm the pain was why I went to er in the middle of the night.I have had no fever and almost no cough and not coughing up any color.a week later I had taken 10 doses of doxy100 before I had a allergic reaction to it pounding heart extreme anxiety. its taken me a couple of days to get over the anxiety.my dr told me not to take anything no clatarin or nasonex or anything to clear out my system. she is sending me to a pulmonology dr but I cant see them for 2 weeks it just scares me that I have to wait 2 weeks on no meds if I do have pneumonia I don't want to get realy sick and what if its not pneumonia what else could it be, could it be scar tissue or something I have always had a lot of upper respiratory infections over the years and chronic sinisus and when I was 11 I had what the dr said was a spot of pneumonia I don't remember which side but I remember being very very sick I am a 60 year old female does anyone have any ideas about whats going on with me , or do I really have pneumonia

Brief Answer: Recovery takes lot of time. Detailed Answer: Hello Mrs Dune, Hope you are in good health. From the history and your symptoms, you must have had lingular pneumonia. One can not go wrong with the diagnosis especially after CT scan of chest. There are other conditions that needs to be ruled out at your age, which will be done by a pulmonologist. That is the reason you were probably referred to a pulmonologist. Recovery from pneumonia takes a lot of time at elder age, and hence you need not worry. you will be fine till you get another consultation as you had a course of treatment. A scar tissue would have been easily picked up by CT scan, and hence is ruled out. keep sipping warm water periodically to keep your mucus drainage healthy. Hope i am clear.
