Do IGG Antibodies Slowly Increase With Infection Or Is It More Of A Rapid Passing Of The Positive Threshold?

Question: Hi. I had a full 10 panel std screening in July and January. All negative. I had what I thought was contact dermatitis because I was experiencing itching and a bit of redness in the vaginal area. This has been going on for about three weeks. Earlier this week I tested positive for HSV 2 via upon examination and IGG antibodies. I understand that it takes a while for the IgG antibodies to show up, but is it possible I contracted this after January? I had also been having a headache and some hip pain at the beginning of this. Do IGG antibodies slowly increase with infection or is it more of a rapid passing of the positive threshold?
Brief Answer:
Can be after January.
Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Most probably you contacted hsv2 after January, taking count that you tested negative on January.
After contracting hsv2 you may need 21-28 days to develop IgG.
Hip pain and pelvic pain may be symptoms of it but most specific symptom is fluid filled vesicles on pubic are.
Hope I have answered the question.
Let me know if I can assist you further.
Thanks.
Can be after January.

Thank you. My igg was .91 in January which was classified as negative. I guess that could have been early infection. My question is do you slowly build the igg antibodies? Is it possible I contracted it a few days prior (I’m pretty sure I have an idea when this occurred) and my body was starting to detect the virus?
Brief Answer:
See details below.
Detailed Answer:
Hello dear and thank you for asking again.
You build the igg slowly.
If you had a result of 0.91 it would have been recommended to repeat the test after 10-14 days.
Possibly you contracted the virus slightly before the test on January.
Let me know if I can assist you further.
