Brief Answer:
Don't discontinue medication abruptly.
Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Any psychiatric medicine should not be stopped immediately as it can cause an abrupt increase in symptoms that won't be good for you.
Although itching or pruritis is seen in less than 1% of the patients.
If you are feeling relieved in your itching after stopping Venlafaxine then, in my opinion, you should consult a psychiatrist for some other alternatives.
And for itching, you can take some antihistaminic like Cetrizine at bedtime.
