Do Blood Pressure Medications, Cymbalta, Monolaurin, And Tramadol Alter The HIV 4th Generation Test Result?
Question: Hello, I was wondering if blood preassure medications, cymbalta and monolaurin, a supplement I'm currently taking, and tramadol, alter an HIV 4th gen test. I developed neuropathy in my feet in December 2016, I tested negative for HIV in January, February, march and April 2017, all these. Tests were the HIV 4th gen test, all negative. Also in march, 2017 I took an HIV RNA-1 test, also negative.my neuropathy went away in XXXXXXX 2017, but returned in december 2017. Shall I get tested again, or are these tests conclusive?
Brief Answer:
This medications absolutely cannot alter the results.
Detailed Answer:
Hello!
You should know that all this medications absolutely cannot alter the results of your 4th generation HIV tests.
Based on your history, having negative results of 4th generation HIV tests (4 times) and HIV_RNA negative, I think you shouldn't worry because you are free of HIV.
All these tests are accurate and conclusive and you shouldn't tested again.
I hope my answer helps you.
Regards.
