default
Posted on Tue, 14 Nov 2017
Question: Does having braces on your teeth have any effect or cause any change in vision or visual perception? Any change in how you see things such as things looking bigger, smaller, thinner, flatter etc.? Any affect on physical appearance of eyes? Or does braces put pressure on eyes?

Brief Answer:
there is no effect on the eyes, vision or perception

Detailed Answer:
HI, thanks for using healthcare magic

No, braces do not have any effect on your vision, perception of objects/persons. They have no effect on the appearance of the eyes nor do they place any pressure on the eyes.

Braces DO NOT have any of the effects mentioned. The effect of braces is essentially limited to the mouth.

They are used to align the teeth in the mouth and do not affect the eyes or the perception of the eyes, in any way.

I hope this helps, feel free to ask any other questions

Do braces affect your voice or cause any change in your voice in any way? Is there any change in voice during braces treatment or after you take braces off? Thanks!

Brief Answer:
no they do not

Detailed Answer:
HI

If you have severe pain in the mouth due to the braces then the pain may cause you to alter your speech but other than that the braces are not located anywhere near to the vocal cords.

They are nowhere close to the cords and do not affect speech
