Hello and Welcome
I appreciate your concern
Exercise doesn't lead to reversal of peripheral edema.
Kindly answer the following to help you accordingly
Is the swelling restricted to one side i.e right or left arm, leg or does it involve both the right and left sides ?
Do you have any other symptoms related to the swelling e.g shortness of breath, chest pain ?
Do you have any cardiac , renal or hepatic disease history ?
Wishing you best of health
Thanks

i had a broken leg XXXXXXX 18.
i was allowed to walk on it on may 1
10 days later it would swell up all the way up to the knee
i felt fluid passing through the other parts of the body 2 weeks later
i saw my main doctor ;;it was found out that there was no deep vein thrombosis and i just needed to take asprin.
i went back to work
chest pain started up 11 days later
i went to an ER and was released 16 hours later
i am seeing a cardiologist now; however her and the hospital cardiologist did
not order a stress test. the hospital cardiologist did a CT with contrast
and found out that the coronary arteries are clear and wide open
i am taking the medications that i was given; i would like to get rid of this uncomfortable/threating fluid in my arms, legs and face

Explained

Hello again.
Diuretics such as furosemide would help if the edema is due to excess hydrostatic pressure. Lowered proteins especially albumin in the circulation can also be a cause and if present , the protein content should be corrected and any underlying liver insult or kidney failure should also be looked for. Lymphatic obstruction and venous insufficiency are also possible. A cardiovascular surgeon referral can be made if the edema persists despite the medication prescribed by the cardiologist. For now you should continue them and avoid any strenuous exercise.
