Do High Levels Of TSH Have Any Effect On HIV Test Results?
No effect on HIV test results.
Detailed Answer:
Hi
Thanks for your query at HCM.
I understand your concern and situation.
I would like to tell you that yes your TSH levels are too high 28 IU/ml. The normal values in adults are between 0.5-4.7. But even these high values will not interfere with HIV tests interpretation as thyroid hormones have no effect on HIV viral load, antigen and antibodies. So you may take the HIV tests post counseling and trust the reports. Also take the treatment for hypothyroidism. You can take HIV PCR test after6-7 weeks or 4 th generation ELISA test after12 weeks and again at 6 months.
Hope I answered your query.

No, elevation do not effect test results.
Detailed Answer:
Hi
As per your test results you are negative for HIV infection. No further tests are required for HIV. Now coming to your query. You must be completely relaxed as TSH and HIV do not effect each other. You must only concentrate on your thyroid treatment by an endocrinologist. Forget about HIV infection. But yes practice barrier methods during intercourse in future if high risk.
