Question: have a fever that has persisted for about 21/2 days. Had a little diahrea at first ,but none since. feel fine as long as I am on ibuprophen, but fever continues to spike back up after ibuprophen wears off. had a rash on the lower inside of my buttocks area last week that sort of came and went in a matter of 2 days. I have no nauseated feelings have eaten, but not much of an appetite since fever has started. was working outside on a landscape job trimming bushes before this happened. could I have been bitten by something? There is a norovirus going around in an area about 50 miles from here.

Brief Answer:
Possibly viral attack

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

With whatever you explained me I suppose you are under viral attack.
You need a confirmation with a battery of blood work. On the basis of results a targeted treatment can be started.
Since you had rash and diarrhoea initially, these are typical of a viral attack.
The virus could have entered your body by air, food or bug bite.
Norvo virus can also present this way.
I suggest you not to wait at home anymore but would get to primary care physician for examination and testing.
You can safely continue Ibuprofen for time being.
