Do Stomach Pain Worsening In The Mornings Improve By Itself?
![default](/r/images/default.png)
PPI, Antacid, Upper GI Endoscopy
Detailed Answer:
Hi.
Thanks for your query and the image.
To recapitulate:Male/63 - stomach ache 2 weeks - OK with TUMS - worse before breakfast and meals - not changed diet - bothering today again - wants to know whether this will improve on its own or something else going on ...
Your symptoms are definitely indicating that you have acidity related problems hence the worsening of pain on empty stomach and relief by TUMS.
I would advise you the following:
To take PPI like Omeprazole if it is available as OTC (over the counter).
To take Antacid gel/liquid every 3 hours or so particularly when you are on empty stomach, starting the first dose the moment you get up in the morning.
Diet changes: soft bland diet free of spices and chilies.
Remember the foods and beverages that increase your problems and stop them altogether.
Avoid stress and/or anxiety.
Sound sleep of 6-8 hours.
If you do not get complete relief, it would be prudent to get an upper GI Endoscopy done to know the exact cause of your problems so that the added medicines can help you to get a cure.
I hope this answers your query, please feel free to ask for further relevant queries if you feel that there is a gap of communication.
