Do These Liquid Desensitizers Eventually Evaporate Over Time Or Are They Absorbed Into The Gum And L Linger?

Question: Hello, doctor. Recently, I had a sensitive tooth and gum and the dentist put on a liquid desensitizer.
As it was being put on, I had a terrible burning feeling into the gum which still is lingering even a few days later. Do these liquid desensitizers eventually evaporate over time or are they absorbed into the gum and l linger?

Well, sometimes, some gum desensitizers can irritate the gum mucosa when it is touched to it causing irritation, discomfort, pain and burning.
This can be a possibility in your case.
You can once get checked by your Dentist. If the gum seems burned, you can apply Lidocaine gel to reduce the burning sensation. Avoid eating very hot and spicy foods. Do warm saline gargles. Dink plenty of water.

Well, you need to check with your local pharmacy and get oral gel containing Lidocaine like Xylocaine 2% jelly.
Make sure it can be used inside mouth.
Secondly the burning should subside in less than a week however can depend on the amount of injury that has happened to gum mucosa.
