Do U Suggest I Just Leave It To Heal Or Flush It With Rinsed Water ?

Question: ello :) I did custom ear impressions(earmold) for my music hearing protection. I looked at my ears before in a ear-scope and everything looked healthy with a little bit of earwax- no redness. . I dont feel any pain after and no symptoms; but when I look in the earscope again, after the earmold; the earwax has been pushed a little bit longer in and some micro trauma to the ear-canal - two red area dots in the right ear and one small in the left ear. They use this oto-block so the materiale doesnt go into the eardrum. Is this micro-trauma normal or anything to worry about ? Do u suggest I just leave it to heal or flush it with rinsed water ?

Brief Answer:
Do not worry! Anti-inflammatory medicines would suffice.

Detailed Answer:
Hi

Thanks for posting the query.

Do not worry! The trauma and the ear wax accumulated inside the canal are very minimal. The trauma caused to the ear canal would heal by itself without any active intervention.

A potent anti-inflammatory medicine such as Diclofenac or Ibuprofen would suffice. These medicines would reduce the inflammation in the ear canal within a week. If you develop any pain in the future, consult your doctor.

Dont's:
1. Kindly refrain from probing the ear.
2. Do not use any drops inside the ear.
3. Avoid water getting into the ear.

I hope this answers your query. Revert to me if you have any further questions.

Hello again :) one week after the trauma has completely healed. I have taken a closeup of both eardrums - they seem to have same colour but its hard to reach them on the same camera lenght. How do they look ? I sometimes suffer from mild etd; but my hearing is good. Do u think they look healthy ? And is the surface normal without bulge ?

Brief Answer:
The tympanic membranes are perfectly normal

Detailed Answer:
Hi

Welcome back

My sincere apologies for the delay in responding. I have examined both tympanic membranes thoroughly, and I can assure you that both membranes are perfectly normal. There is no loss in the curvature. There are no signs of any retraction. I hope this clarifies your doubts. I wish you excellent health.
