Brief Answer:
Hi,

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

Local side effects like swelling, redness & pain may be usual side effects of anti-Rabic vaccine. Usually, these side effects are self limiting & resolve themselves within 2-4 days. Similarly, swelling of lymph glands of the draining area of vaccination site may also be seen in about 10-15 % of the cases, who are given anti-Rabies vaccine. This is the usual body reaction, where white blood cells are activated to fight against the infection after vaccination. These swellings are also self limiting, which may take a few weeks- may be upto 2-4 weeks for their resolution. However, analgesics like tylenol or ibuprofen may be given for the symptomatic relief of pain & fever.
Hope, this may give reply to your query.
