Brief Answer:
About high blood glucose treatment;

Detailed Answer:
Hello and thank you for asking!
I can understand your concern regarding your father's health.

The XXXXXXX dose of Gliclazide is 120 mg and it is recommended to be taken once daily, not to be divided.

As it has a long action, taking 2 tablets can have the risk of hypoglycemia tomorrow if the high blood sugar is not continuos but is due to a high caloric meal.

So it would be safer to take 2 tablets of Metformin now, of course, if he does not have chronic renal disease.

For the correction of the maintaining dose, HbA1c that shows the mean glucose level of the last three months is needed.

Hope the information will help.

Best wishes

Detailed Answer:
Hi again,
As i mentioned you need to check HbA1c, that shows the mean glucose levrl of the last 3 months and depending on it his physician will adjust the therapy.
Of course, there are some causes that incerease the blood dugar that should be treated if present ( infections the most common).
So, he needs to see jis physician to adjust the therapy.
