Question: Doctor, my wife's period date is on Aug 13th. But she had her period 13 days late which is on Aug 26th. Today on 3rd Sept we had unprotected Sex. Even though I withdraw-ed from her during my release. I am sure i had released inside her a little. What are the chances of pregnancy doctor? We have a 3 year old daughter and are not ready for another baby as of now. What are chances of pregnancy in this case. We are worried.

Brief Answer:
Chances of pregnancy are less than 10%.

Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Thanks for trusting us with your health concern.
Today is day 9 of her period. Having unprotected sex can cause a pregnancy in such cases. The chances of pregnancy are less than 10% as this is not the fertile period of her cycle and you withdrew just before the ejaculation. If you are not prepared for the next baby then it is best to take an I-pill or Plan B within 24 hours of the sex. She can have mild withdrawal bleeding due to the pill after 2-3 days which will subside on its own. It is best to use a regular contraceptive from the next cycle.

Doctor, I withdraw-ed, but I am sure there is an ejaculation inside her. May be missed to withdraw within time.

I am thinking of buying i pill or plan B. Will they be available without prescription? Since I do not have a prescription..

And what are the chances of pregnancy now in this case, once she uses the pill ?

kindly reply over, Doctor

Brief Answer:
Available without a prescription.

Detailed Answer:
Hello.
Thanks for writing in again.

Plan B or I-pill is available without a prescription. After taking the pill, the chances of pregnancy will be less than 3% if taken within 24 hours of unsafe sex.

Hope my answer is helpful.
