Does Acetaminophen Interact With Oxycodone?

More specific information : I began having severe crushing headaches on 7/22/2016. On 7/25, I met with an emergency room physician who treated me with saline and morphine and then discharged me. After receiving no pain medication to take home, I went home and took 1 oxycodone with acetaminaphen tablet. Then I become scared and called 911 again, went to another local ER hospital on 7/26/2016. They treated me with dilaudid injectible and gave me a prescription for dilaudid tablets, which I honestly lost after I left that hospital. Tonight I am taking extra-strength acetaminophen 2 500mg. tablets beginning at 12:15AM 7/31/2016.
Thank you. The ER discharge summary from hospital 1 said only that I was severely dehydrated, with no problems to my shunt, which they did a CAT scan of. They did a CAT scan of my bowel as well, at hospital 1, after I told them of frequent immodium use to keep from having diahrrea. I have no blockage there either. They medically cleared me , at both hospital ERs, then discharged me telling me to follow up with a neurologist.
You can take both simultaneously
Detailed Answer:
Hi! Welcome to health care magic! Thanks for sharing your concerns with us. We will try to help you in best way possible. First of all, it is sad to know what you had gone through and you seem quite brave to have coped with everything bravely. As far as your recent query is concerned, regarding the drug interactions that you have mentioned, yes you can take both simultaneously if the pain is of more intensity. You can also take two tablets of acetaminophen as you have mentioned and isn't considered as an overdose. It is good to know that rest of the things are going well with your other issues. Keep close liason with the neurologists and keep good hydration to avoid such episode of dehydration in the future. Hope this has answered your query, if you have any more questions, feel free to ask. Regards.
