Does Adderall Cause Vasoconstriction In The Hands And Feet?
Reducing the dose is best option to prevent the side effects.
Detailed Answer:
Hi, thanks for asking from HCM for your health related doubts
Adderall is known to cause vasoconstriction and this causes numbness of hands and if increases in severity results in bluish discolouration of fingers due to cyanosis. As he is a child so adding some medicine to prevent this is not a good idea. If possible talk to his doctor and ask for reduction of dose of Adderall. In most individuals reducing the dose results in improvement of this side effect.
Other things he should do are-
- To avoid excess tea, coffee etc.
- Drink plenty of water and to maintain hydration. Beat root juice might also help as this is rich in nitrates which are vasodilators.
- He should remain in warm place and this will help in reducing the cyanosis.
Thanks.
