Does Advil Interact With Atenolol?

I would explain as follows:
Detailed Answer:
Hello!
Welcome on HCM!
Regarding your concern, I would explain that Advil may decrease the effects of Atenolol and in general lead to increased blood pressure values (as it decreases prostaglandins synthesis, which have vasodilating properties).
So, Advil could not be the reason of a possible BP drop. Other explanations should be sought as well.
It is necessary to perform several medical tests for exploring the potential reason of your complaints:
- complete blood count
- ECG and if suspicions of a rhythm or cardiac conductance disturbances an ambulatory ECG monitoring (Holter),
- cardiac ultrasound,
- blood electrolytes level,
- fasting blood glucose,
- uric acid level,
- renal function tests
Also, an extreme pain may lead to fainting an loss of conscience.
You need to discuss with your attending physician on the above mentioned issues.
Hope to have been helpful!
Kind regards,
Dr. Iliri
