Does Alendronate Cause Allergic Reactions In The Body?
YYYY@YYYY
effects can last 3 to 4 months, but remains in bone up to 10 yrs
Detailed Answer:
Hi, thanks for using healthcare magic
The half life of a medication is the time taken for the amount of medication in the body to decrease by half.
It takes approximately 3 to 5 half lives for a medication to be mostly eliminated from the body.
When alendronate is given, 50% of it is released into the urine within 72 hours but the rest goes to the bone. When it makes it to the bone, the terminal half life can be up the 10 years. It becomes incoporated into the bone and eventually is not effective.
The side effects would stop long before this time since you are not taking it any longer, it is estimated to take 3 to 4 months for most of these effects to be eliminated.
