Does Amlodipine Interact With Turmeric?
Question: My dr. put me on Amlodine 10mg. I have flushing and cant take statins . very sensitive to them. I have been taking the pill for 3 days. It brought down my bloodpressure. My dr. said to give it a week to see how I respond to the drug then. I am leaving tomorrow for to see my family out west. My daughter and son-in-law have been rn"s for almost 20 years. I want to know if taking turmeric for inflammation is reacting to the flushing and how long will it last.
I was taking 20mg of fosinopril twice a day and I have been under a lot of stress lately.I can do my daily chores but my feet hurt, which was hurting when I went to see my dr. I think the pain raised my bloodpressure. So I take natural products and want to know want to know what products to stay away from while I am taking this drug. I am flying to XXXXXXX which the altitude can bother me too.

Brief Answer:
Not a cause for concern.
Detailed Answer:
Thanks for asking on HealthcareMagic.
I have gone carefully through your query and understand your concerns. Flushing is found among people who take turmeric. I would not say that you need to worry about it. It is normal reaction and not due to drug interaction. It may continue. You may continue taking amlodipine. However, your stress needs to be controlled.
Unless you have definite history of bronchospasms and respiratory compromise I doubt if flying to XXXXXXX would be a cause for concern.
Let me know if I could help further.
