Detailed Answer:
HI, thanks for using healthcare magic

These are not side effects of the amoxicillin.

Ear pain and headache can occur in upper respiratory tract infections (common cold or flu).

The ear pain usually signals that there is an infection in the ear. Headache is a common symptom seen in many viral or bacterial infections.
The fact that the pain is only in one are further makes it more likely that it is an ear infection.

The amoxicillin may help treat the ear infection though some of the bacteria causing ear infections are resistant to this antibiotic.
If there is no improvement over a 48 hour period, your doctor may consider either changing to another antibiotic that would cover both infections or starting a topical antibiotic ear drop.

The headache can be treated with paracetamol, ibuprofen or aspirin provided you do not have an allergy or any problems with these medications.
