Does Atenolol Interact With Foracort?

Question: Today in the evening I was having a bit of hight BP and Pulse (140/107) and Pulse 110.
I contacted my doctor and he said its not that high and kept me under his observation without any medication. He assumed its my stress or anxiety that caused this problem. He has been my doctor over 4 years and he seems to know about my problem.

However, it did not show improvement. Sometimes its down and another its the same as above. So he asked me to take Atanalol 10mg and I think is ok now. On an earlier occasion also he has given me this tablet. But he advised me not to take it on regular as I am asthamtic. I am taking Foracort (budesonide and Formetrol) Powder inhaler and I am wondering is it ok to take the inhaler along with this tab. I am als taking motelukast.

I can understand your concern

In my daily practical practice in patients with hypertension and asthma we use and prefer mostly Metoprolol which is a selective beta blockers and does not worsen lung function (asthma)

So you can discuss it with your doctor in the future.

I hope you don't need it anymore however no problem Metoprolol help a lot without lung damage.
