Does Carisoprodol Interact With Citalopram, Lorazepam And Spironolactone?

Question: I am taking pictures of my 86 year old mother's A.M. and P.M. pills. I am writing the name, dosage and time of day to be taken. We just put my mother into a retirement home and she's been telling me they goof up all the time on her pills so I decided to take pictures with my IPhone, copy it and put it into a plastic folder for her to show them what pills she is suppose to take, when and how. It will help her to know that she is taking the right pills. Then, I was looking at known side-effects to be looking for should she exhibit any unusual signs. I am down to Carisoprodol 350 mg., Lorazepan 0.5 mg (evenings). (Mornings) -- DIGOXIN 0.125 mg., Spironolactone 100 mg., Citalopram 10 mg. and DICYCLOMINE 20 mg. (as needed) (hard to read the correct spellings of the hand written nurses pad).

Brief Answer:
there are some cautions and drug interactions

Detailed Answer:
Hello and thank you for your question.
There is a drug interaction between spironolactone and digoxin. The spironolactone dose is very high and this interaction can cause the digoxin level to get too high and this can cause heart rhythm abnormalities. In addition there are drug interactions between the carisoprodol, citalopram and lorazepam. All these drugs are sedating and in combination can cause over-sedation especially in the elderly. The dicyclomine is about the only thing on the list that does not interact with any of the other medications.
Her digoxin level should be checked if she must be on both the digoxin and the high dose of spironolactone. Other than that you need to monitor her for oversedation.
