Does Catapres Interact With Efexor?

Question: can i take catapres tablets with efexor-xr modified release capsules together for Hot flushes.Efexor were not working but helped with mild depression.

There is no significant drug interaction between catapres (clonidine) and effexor-xr (venlafaxine). Clonidine lowers the blood pressure while venlafaxine increases so combination will be helpful in maintaining blood pressure.

Yes catapres is used in menopausal flushing. It is centrally acting sympatholytic drug and it can reduce severity or stop stop flushing and give relief to female. Your doctor is doing the right thing.
